If the curl is still affecting only the soft tissue around the gill plate, corrective trimming may help prevent it from progressing onto the hard gill plate, where it can become permanent and much more difficult to correct.
One common mistake hobbyists make is adding Transmore directly into the bag or container where the fish is resting. This can shock the fish because Arowanas are extremely sensitive to sudden changes in water chemistry and concentration. The result can be excessive stress and damage to the fish’s protective slime coat.
Here is a safer method:
✅ Prepare a small pail or container using water from the fish’s existing tank or bag.
✅ Add a few drops of Transmore into the container first and mix it thoroughly.
✅ Slowly introduce the medicated water into the fish’s bag or container over time, allowing the concentration to increase gradually until the fish is safely sedated.
Another effective method:
Hold the transport bag gently—not too tightly—and create a small opening that allows water to circulate. Using a gentle up-and-down motion, let water flow out of the bag, mix with the Transmore solution, and flow back in. This gradually distributes the sedative evenly without exposing the fish to a sudden high concentration.
This simple technique helps reduce stress, protects the slime coat, and allows the fish to fall asleep more comfortably before carrying out any necessary trimming of the soft gill tissue.

您的龙鱼开始出现鳃盖外翻（Gill Curl）了吗？
如果目前只是鳃盖外围的软组织开始外翻，及早修剪有机会阻止问题继续扩展至坚硬的鳃盖骨。一旦影响到硬鳃盖，往往就会成为永久性的缺陷，更难修复。
很多鱼友在麻醉龙鱼时都会犯一个错误，就是直接把 Transmore 倒进装鱼的袋子或容器里。
龙鱼对水质变化、水温及药物浓度都非常敏感，瞬间接触高浓度麻醉剂容易造成强烈刺激，甚至破坏龙鱼最重要的保护层——黏液层（Slime Coat）。
正确做法如下：
✅ 先准备一个小桶或容器，并使用龙鱼原本所在的水。
✅ 将适量的 Transmore 滴入桶内，充分搅拌均匀。
✅ 再慢慢将混合后的药水分次加入装鱼的袋子或容器内，让麻醉浓度逐渐提高，龙鱼会较平稳地进入麻醉状态。
另一种简单有效的方法：
轻轻握住鱼袋，不要太用力，让袋口形成一个小水流通道。轻轻上下摆动鱼袋，让袋内的水流出，与外面的药水混合后再流回袋内。这样药物能够慢慢均匀混合，避免龙鱼瞬间受到高浓度药物刺激。
这种方法能够有效减少龙鱼的紧迫感，同时保护黏液层，让龙鱼更安全、更平稳地进入麻醉状态，再进行软组织修剪。
